On the electrical performance of different insulating materials in a rotating-wheel-dip-test

This paper deals with the surface behaviour of insulating materials like epoxy casting (EC) and silicone rubber (SIR), when the specimens are stressed by humidity and an electric field in a Rotating-Wheel-Dip-Test. The influence of the test procedure on test duration until hydrophobicity loss is presented. Results of a comparison of the hydrophobicity resistance of several insulating materials with different thickness and fillers are shown.
