A prediction method for DAB in urban areas

A field-strength prediction method for urban areas is investigated in order to test its applicability to calculate the received power of a broadband DAB (digital audio broadcasting) signal for mobile reception. It is worthwhile to use a complex method capable of providing information about the local variation of the signal, in order to cope with the need of a 99% coverage for a digital service and mobile reception. The method will be described in this paper and predictions will be compared with broadband measurements in a DAB single frequency network in Munich.
