Temperature dependence of surface potential decay of ceramic materials

The aim of this paper is to determine the influence of the temperature on the surface potential decays after corona charging in a needle-to-plane arrangement for different ceramic materials. The materials under study are generally used as substrates in Power Electronics modules and their behaviours in the high temperature range are insufficiently known. A comparison is made between Al₂O₃, Si₃N₄ and AlN. A correlation is proposed between the surface potential change over time and their broadband dielectric response.
