Control of electromagnetic radiation in digital circuits

When there is current flow, there is a potential for a problem. The more current that flows, the greater the potential for a problem. One thing that has repeatedly been shown to have beneficial effects is to limit the current flow when buffers switch. That is, be careful not to have shoot through currents. Limit the use of high speed clocks when ever possible and then use only the strongest buffers necessary to perform the intended function. Resist every urge to over design a product. Extra speed that you do not use will cause a problem in emissions that will have to be dealt with. There is essentially no such thing as economically cleaning up emissions from a noisy board or chip design. In designing electronics, the only good emissions are the ones that never great created.
