Scattering from a small hole: verification of Collin's predictions from Bethe's theory

Alternative predictions developed by Collin, based on Bethe's theory, and Elliott, based on Schelkunoff's equivalence principle and the method of images, for the scattering from a small hole in the broad wall of a piggyback waveguide are described. Experimental data is given that verifies Collin's predictions from Bethe's theory. An apparent conflict between the two formulations is resolved by data generated by two programs that employ the method of moments technique.
