Periodic poling of rubidium titanyl arsenate (RTA) and other crystals from the KTP family

Periodically poled crystals from the KTP family such as RbTiOAsO/sub 4/ (RTA) are promising for optical frequency conversion into both the blue-green and the mid IR wavelength regions. Our techniques to electric field pole and characterize such crystals will be reviewed.
