Contextual modeling of hand written Chinese character for recognition. II. Discriminative training

For pt.I see ibid., p.1099, 1998. In this investigation, contextual models are discriminatively trained using a gradient projection technique. Both open test and closed test recognition rates are substantially upgraded when compared with the results of the decision directed training algorithm reported in part II.
