Study of decomposing CO/sub 2/ gas by ultra-high voltage pulse activation

The paper presents a technique of direct decomposition of CO/sub 2/ gas by ultra-high voltage pulse stream discharge at normal pressure. With the technique, an "exploded" huge energy is produced in a nanosecond to make CO/sub 2/ molecules in an activated state and transform to activated molecules. Under the action of a directed chemical reaction, CO/sub 2/ gas is decomposed into a gas molecule O/sub 2/ and solid particle C, having above 90% decomposing rate. At the same time, the principle of decomposing CO/sub 2/ and the functional relations of the effect of several experimental parameters on CO/sub 2/ decomposing rate are depicted.
