A lossless and inductorless gate driver to reduce switching loss of the buck converter control FET

A lossless and inductorless gate driver is shown in this paper to reduce the switching loss of the control FET for buck converters. The loss model based on the mathematical analysis and simulation were proposed to predict the advantages of the gate driver over voltage source driver (VSD). Experimental results verified the improvement achieved by the gate driver.
