Abstract:

Multiple scattering by two plasma cylinders is investigated rigorously applying boundary value method verified validity with simulation method simultaneously, based upon the property of incident wave traveling in the argon plasma by cathode discharging. Approximate expressions for the far field, taking into account the interaction between the plasma cylinders, are derived briefly after some mathematical manipulations. Numerical results are presented for the case of E-polarized incidence with varied plasma collision frequencies, plasma densities and different separation distances between the cylinders, comparisons of the scattering distributions are given in detail as well. It is found that the plasma density, plasma collision and separation between the plasma cylinders play innegligible roles in scattered energy redistributing, which is useful in the future research of intelligent plasma antenna.
