A fully integrated 3.3 V 1-600 MHz CMOS frequency synthesizer

A 3.3 V 1-600 MHz frequency synthesizer has been designed for high frequency, low voltage, low power applications. The circuit is fully integrated including the loop filter capacitors. Fabricated in a 0.8 /spl mu/m CMOS process, this circuit occupies an active area of 0.30 mm/sup 2/. With the VCO operating at 300 MHz, the synthesizer's 150 MHz output has a jitter of /spl plusmn/80 ps, and power consumption is 18 mW with a 3.3 V supply.
