Study on Huai'an transport system internal coordination development based on DEA model

Railway is the artery of national economy, and it is an important part of integrated transportation system. With the development of economy and society, railway transportation of Huai'an cannot meet the needs of rapid economic growth. It has put a serious impediment to the development of economy. The reasons lie in that the railway system hasn't implemented coordinated development. This paper chooses the number of employees of railway system and the number of freight vehicles as input indicators, and selects volume of rail freight, volume of passenger traffic and cargo turnover as output indicators. DEA theory is used to build Huai'an railway transport system internal coordination development model, and lingo software is adopted to solve. The evaluation results show, to increase the scale return of Huai'an railway transport, we need to increase the investment in railway transport systems, and to achieve the coordinated development with other modes of transport.
