Meander-line antenna with arc structure for UHF- RFID Tag

The new configuration of the RFID tag antenna is presented in this paper. It consists of meander-line with arc structure and T-matching technique to accomplish the very small tag antenna for an operation of the frequency band 920–925 MHz, corresponding to the standard of UHF RFID in Thailand. The electrical size of the proposed tag antenna is approximately 0.025λ0× 0.24λ0 or 0.8 mm×79 mm, and it is designed by using NXP G2XL IC chip with the impedance of 21.29–j191.7 Ω at the frequency of 922.5 MHz. The proposed tag antenna obtains the omnidirectional pattern with 0.91 dBi gain. It is fabricated on FR 4 with the thickness of 0.25 mm. The maximum read range is 8 m, which was measured by 4 W EIRP reader.
