Current distortion in Variable Capacitance Device for the use in AC power converters

With respect to new power device “Variable Capacitance Device,” its current distortion is discussed. This device utilizes nonlinear characteristics for varying the capacitance. However, the capacitor current has a low value of THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). And then, an example of its application to ac power supply is introduced.
