The propagation of a 4 metre guided discharge across a dielectric surface

This paper describes a recently developed method which allows extremely long discharges (1-5 m) to be produced across dielectric surfaces. This is achieved by depositing charge on the surface of the material of interest which is subsequently discharged through the application of an impulse voltage.
