Pulsed actuator with permanent magnet and its dynamic characteristics

A special pulsed electromagnetic actuator is presented with the plunger containing a permanent magnet. The actuator exhibits a high holding force and small consumption of energy (and negligible thermal losses). The movement of the plunger is controlled by short current pulses. Dynamic characteristics and other operation properties of the actuator are modeled numerically.
