Analysis on dynamic characteristics of closed slewing system for large-scale hydraulic excavator

The paper researches on the largest domestic hydraulic excavator whose bucket capacity is 15m³ and weight is 260 tons, which is developed by Tai Yuan Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. The work time and energy consumption of swing mechanism amounts to high proportion in the whole working cycle of hydraulic excavator. Consequently, it is very important to accurately grasp dynamic characteristics of slewing system for the sake of improving the performance of the machine. In order to accurately simulate the practical characteristics of rotary motion, the paper establishes the co-simulation model of the working devices and swing mechanism of hydraulic excavator with AMESim and ADAMS. By co-simulation, the paper obtains the rotational inertia curves of upper parts relative to the rotation axis during the slewing process, which are imported into the simulation model of slewing hydraulic system in order to analysis its dynamic characteristics. Furthermore, the paper simulates two conditions including the constant inertia and variable inertia respectively. By contrast, it's known that the variable inertia simulation is close to the practical condition. What's more, this is also able to provide theoretical guidance for the machine commissioning at the same time.
