Smart distribution system research and education at the FREEDM systems center

This panel paper outlines the undergoing research towards the development of a novel smart distribution system at the Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management (FREEDM) Systems Center. The center's mission is to develop fundamental and enabling technologies necessary for a next generation smart distribution systems which can facilitate seamless integration of distributed recourses. The paper will also highlight center's education programs that are being developed for educating the next generation of power engineers who will be needed for the development and management of such systems.
