Situation analysis of metabolic syndrome and control strategies among staffs in university

Metabolic Syndrome is increasing mortality from Cardio Vascular Disease and all-causes in the general population. The staffs in university is a kind of special occupational group whose work is primarily mental work. We analysed the physical examination data of 544 university staffs in Jilin province in 2010, the incidence of metabolic syndrome among university staffs was 10.29%. We suggested the relevant intervention strategies were changing lifestyle, taking regular physical exercise, providing psychologic services, establishing health early warning systems and early intervention and teatment.
