Effect of 17 β-estradiol on Ca2+ channel in mouse C2C12 myoblasts

The present study has investigated effect of 17β-estradiol on Ca²⁺ channel in mouse C2C12 myoblasts. Whole cell Patch-clamp analysis was used to observe the effects of different doses of 17β-estradiol on changes of Ca²⁺ channel in C2C12 myoblasts. Currents of Ca²⁺ were recorded in 67% C2C12 myoblasts. Groups of 30 mol · L^-1 and 20 mol L^-1 increased currents of Ca²⁺ significiantly (P<;0.05). While group of 10 mol · L^-1 did not change. The present results revealed that 17β-estradiol may regulate C2C12 myoblasts by opening Ca²⁺ channel in myoblast cell line C2C12.
