Nonlinear robust control for excitation systems base on the ESO-BackStepping method

This paper presents a new control method for excitation system. The extended state observer (ESO) is used to estimate the model error and the uncertain external disturbance of the excitation system, and dynamically to eliminate them. The controller of the excitation system, feedback by ESO, can easily be designed by the backstepping method. The ESO-Backstepping method is dynamically eliminating the nonlinear part of the system selectively, so that the calculating load of the ESO is light and the controller has both superior static, dynamic performance and strong robustness. The simulation result has proved it.
