Regulated DC link voltage with smaller DC link capacitor in Peng's generalized theory of instantaneous reactive power

This paper investigates Peng's control strategy in harmonics compensation with the aim to reduce the size of DC link capacitor. A simple design is proposed to achieve the goal, i.e. implementing a DC voltage regulator to estimate the power loss of the converter and feedback that losses into the original Peng's control strategy. A three-phase, four-wire system which couple to some nonlinear loads is simulated for this study. Simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed design.
