Optimal controller design for remotely located vibrating systems: a comparative Study

This paper considers a novel geometric design method for the improvement of control performance. Given a controller already designed using other methods such as PID, LQR, or H∞, this paper provides a systematic procedure to further enhance the performance of the control system. The flexibility of the proposed method is justified through its application to a remotely located vibrating test rig based on an H∞ controller as a yardstick.
