A novel strategy to experimentally find bound states of solitons

An input pulse with guessed shape is launched into the fiber; at the fiber end the pulse shape is assessed, and a genetic algorithm is used to modify the input shape in order to optimize the match between input and output. This way the fiber itself is used to find its own stable propagation solutions.
