A new high capacity TDMA radio system

The authors consider the problems of providing telephone and data services in rural areas of Canada. A high capacity TDMA system, the SR500, is described, including system dimensions and performance, and common channel signalling is discussed. The importance of the subscriber radio product being able to provide ISDN services is considered.<>
