Numerical simulation on the mechanical anisotropic properties of the clayey soil microstructure

Using PFC2D to simulate two kinds of soil samples were carried out in different directions all the samples, and then in different directions on the kind of cutting sample tests were carried out, getting the shear stress-strain curves under different loading direction, and strain-volumetric strain curves, respectively. Respectively, making a comparison analysis, obtained the elastic modulus, poisson's ratio, bulk modulus and shear modulus under different directions, and got the four parameters law. The peak strength also shows some anisotropic characteristics in all directions, and is basically symmetric distribution along the vertical direction. Basically, the peak shear strength is descending changes from vertical to horizontal orientation.
