Numerical analysis on strengthen mechanism of GFP-SN slope based on FLAC

Glass Fiber Polymer-Soil Nailing (GFP-SN), a new type of soil nailing, has being applied in slope support engineering, because it has good performance in many aspects. According to the reinforcement project of GFP-SN in Jiufeng Wuhan, FLAC3D three-dimensional calculation model was built and used to compute and reveal the stress and strain variation of the slope support, results showed that the maximal horizontal displacement of the reinforced slope appeared over a certain range in slope bottom, the largest settlement lied at the top of the slope; the force of GFP-SN was distributed along the length of the soil nails, but it wasn't evenly distributed, large in the middle and small at both extremes. The slope is supported by GFP-SN to achieve good support effect, and it is worth studying further.
