The use of automated seating and mobility systems for management of dysphagia in individuals with multiple disabilities

This presentation addresses the use of automation and programmed positioning to provide a method of treatment for individuals with severe dysphagia. This approach deals with the use of seating and positioning systems for individuals with severe physical and medical conditions and describes adjustments to customized systems, commercial and homemade hardware, frame modifications, and use of tilt-in-space including lateral tilt.
