Effect of COD on EBPR System and Variation of OUR

In order to investigate the effect of COD in aeration phase and variation of OUR, an anaerobic/aerobic SBR process was used for treating real domestic wastewater. The experiment was carried out in four cases with different COD concentration (91.3mg/L, 139.7mg/L, 211.7mg/L, 397.8mg/L) at the beginning of aerobic phase. During the first 30min of aerobic phase in each case, COD was still under decomposition and specific phosphorus uptake rate was 124.72mg/(gMLSS·h), 73.36mg/(gMLSS·h), 43.60mg/(gMLSS·h) and 24.8mg/(gMLSS·h) respectively; phosphorus uptake rate increased obviously after COD decomposed completely in caseIII~IV ; OUR could be used as a control parameter of phosphorus uptake in all the cases.
