A CMOS compatible 1×3 optical switch based on silicon on insulator

A 1×3 optical switch is demonstrated utilizing the 0.8-μm standard CMOS technology. Extinction ratios higher than 21dB are obtained for three states. It is with low power consumption (~7.4mW) and switching time (~15.3ns).
