A highly reliable spread spectrum system for indoor applications

This paper describes a spread spectrum system designed for indoor wireless communications with no direct path. The key element of the receiver is a DPSK (differential phase shift keying) SAW (surface acoustic wave) matched filter. The performance of such a system is displayed in the case of mobile robotics inside a nuclear plant and is compared with theory.
