Optimal paging-a search theory approach

Paging of mobile users in a cellular network is considered. The problem of locating a user is modeled as a problem of optimal search, and search theory is used to derive optimal paging strategies that minimize signalling over the radio link. The approach assumes that probability distribution on user location is available.
