The study of relevance between state anxiety and coping style during canoe and kayak athletes' home/away matches

Researcher has found that athlete's mental state will change along with different competition venue. With the consideration of the influence of cognitive psychology theories on individual cognitive behavior, and the directive effect of motivation theories (self efficacy etc.) on behavior patterns and thinking modes, the author has taken the influence on athletes' pre-event mental preparation under home/away match situation as the incentive of home court effect. During home/away matches, athletes will analyze and estimate information (support from audience and society, competition range etc.), then with the corresponding motivational orientation, they will have psychological experiences and changes about the upcoming game, and these cognitive changes will show up later in extrinsic behavior, so that to influence the process and result of the match. The two important psychological factors which can influence the athletes' performance are state anxiety and coping style. To study these two important factors can not only help enrich and perfect the content of sports psychological training, but also provide positive support for athletes to perform techniques and tactics at the right level.
