Estimation of fluid transients in a pipe using Kalman Filter based on Optimized Finite Element Model

In this study, Kalman Filter is applied to the Optimized Finite Element Model (OFEM model) of pipeline dynamics. Pressure and flow rate in a pipe were estimated from measured data of an experiment. As a result, it is confirmed that not only the flow rate of various points but also the pressure of various points can be estimated from the measurement of three points. In addition, it was confirmed that the initial error between the estimation object and the model converged in a short time by the simulation that used the experiment value.
