Co-design of integrated antennas and CMOS switches for future indoor personal networks at 60 GHz

In this paper, the authors proposed a design of two 60 GHz antennas using a CMOS 130 nm bulk process. First, an inverted-F antenna (IFA) was presented. Then, a meandered dipole is considered. In a third step, the IFA is co-integrated with a single-pole dual-throw (SPDT) CMOS switch specifically designed for transmit/receive features. The Ansoft HFSS, FEM-based 3D full wave solver is used for all the electromagnetic simulations.
