On asymptotic interference alignment: Plenary talk

The interference alignment scheme introduced by Cadambe and Jafar for the K user interference channel is reviewed. Interesting features of this scheme are pointed out, along with its strengths and limitations in a variety of contexts ranging from wireless networks to network coding applications.
