Research on a novel method for improving inverter output waveforms

A novel method which can improve medium frequency inverter power supply output waveforms using Delta inverter compensate technology is put forward in this paper. Taking parallel compensation as an example, the theoretical analysis of Delta inverter's compensation principle is given. The novel method can improve inverter output waveform distortion which is caused by voltage source inverter's inherent factors like dead time. The simulation model is established based on MATLAB/Simulink, and the system is simulated. In this paper, the experimental equipment of medium frequency inverter compensating system using DSP is designed, and the main inverter and Delta compensating inverter control system is realized. The experimental results prove that Delta inverter as a compensation device can effectively improve the quality of main inverter output waveform, reduce greatly the output sinusoidal voltage waveform distortion and decrease the harmonics content.
