Supercontinuum Generation and Optimisation in Nonlinear Photonic Crystal Fibres

Supercontinuum is said to have generated when several nonlinear effects like self - phase modulation, cross -phase modulation, four - wave mixing, stimulated Raman scattering etc. lead to extreme spectral broadening of ultrashort optical pulses. In this paper, we have numerically demonstrated the effect of variation in the wavelength of optical pulses on the supercontinuum generation in SC - 5.0 - 1040^TM, a highly nonlinear PCF.
