A novel Boost PFC control method for reducing the operation time of DSP

A new control method of implementing single-phase Boost PFC is presented in this paper. The control method doesn't need to sample the current signal of the inductance in Boost PFC, only the samplings of the input voltage and the output current in Boost PFC are required. The computing procedure for duty cycle is deduced based on the basic of single-phase Boost power factor correction. Compared with the traditional double-loop control strategy in boost PFC, this control method leaves out the PI adjustors of the voltage loop and current loop, i.e. there is no need of the complicated signal processing, differential and integral computing, the resource of DSP is saved, and can be used for the control of the end-stage DC/DC converter. The simulation and experimental results show the input current follows the input voltage very well and the output voltage stabilization was achieved.
