Polynomial and warped polynomial image and object representations

This paper deals with the representation of images by polynomials and warped polynomials. It summarises the author's work in that field. The paper first addresses fast algorithms for texture approximation on an arbitrary region by bi-variate polynomials. Next, it briefly considers the description of the boundary of an object by complex-valued warped polynomials. Finally, it discusses image representation in terms of image-dependent base functions (warped polynomials). The (warped) polynomial image and object representations can be used for coding purposes and in pattern recognition.
