Assessing the development phase of emerging technology: The wood pellets case

Climate change has highlighted the potential for bioheating solutions, including wood pellet technologies. This study investigates the development phase of an emerging technology regarding wood pellets that is assessed through publishing activity in different sources. The results show that the number of publications has increased significantly in the 21st century. This indicates the accelerating increase in the development of the current technology.
