An ontology-augmented XBRL extended model for financial information analysis

The field of financial information analysis and decision is a conceptually rich domain where information is complex, huge in volume and a highly valuable business product by itself. XBRL needs significant extensions when faced to the actual needs of content managers that deal with advanced financial information. This paper designs an ontology-augmented XBRL extended model and one system architecture for financial information analysis and decision by adopting semantic Web technologies and standards to provide more insightful semantics and a sharper level of representation for finance analysis.
