Supply chain management modes and their essential attributes

The importance of supply chain management (SCM) is well recognized, but there is lots of confusion about it in academia and business community. This paper discusses the SCM modes in the perspective of logistics, organization, operation management and strategy management respectively, and summaries the common attributes of SCM modes. The results can be useful to better grasp the implications and significance of SCM.
