Efficiency evaluation of provincial input-output based on DEA in rural China

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is an effective measure tool to evaluate the regional input-output efficiency. After the brief review of existing literature, as well as the principle of DEA, this paper evaluates the input-output efficiency of China's 31 provinces (municipality) via the approach of DEA. The result shows that there are respectively three, one and three provinces from east, center to west are efficient in rural input-output. Moreover, the average efficiencies of the three regions are very close, and the effect of different region is not significant to rural input-output.
