Maintenance-oriented information digitalization of hydro turbine generator sets

The technical documents, the experts' knowledge and experiences, and the operating states of hydro turbine generator sets (HTGS) are digitalized with modern modeling and simulation as well as computer and network techniques. The digital information can be understood not only by human experts but also by intelligent equipment. They are comprehensively employed in the condition analysis and fault/degradation diagnosis of hydro electric generating facilities. The digitalization approaches of different information are briefly presented. The data format, the saving and update strategy and the referring method are illustrated. The applications of digital information in fault detection and diagnosis are discussed. A digitalization and condition analysis & diagnosis system for HTGS has been developed. This system has been successfully applied on 7 sets in Gezhouba Hydro Power Plant. A wide area network for condition monitoring and diagnosis of hydro power stations and substations in Gezhouba has been established. The condition monitoring and diagnosis can be carried out remotely.
