Electrical and dielectric measurements in conducting poly(ethylene oxide)-based electrolytes

We report on electrical and dielectrical measurements on several PEO-salt complexes (pure PEO and PEO with 5 and 18% KSCN, 1 and 5% Ba(SCN)/sub 2/, 3 and 18% NaSCN, 10% KBr, compositions given in terms of the proportion in moles between the polymer repeat unit (-CH/sub 2/CH/sub 2/O-) and the salt) by means of thermally stimulated depolarization currents (TSDC), polarization currents (TSPC), DC conductivity techniques in the temperature range 77-300 K and of impedance spectroscopy techniques (5 Hz-13 MHz, 200-400 K). Four relaxation mechanisms have been detected. The main relaxation mechanism associated with the glass transition is studied in some detail. The glass transition shifts to higher temperatures by complexation.
