Simulation of Soliton Propagation in Slab Waveguide by Frequency Dependent FDTD Method

Propagation of envelope soliton in two-dimensional optical waveguide was demonstrated by finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method including linear and nonlinear dispersion terms. The dispersive characteristics were taken into FDTD algorithm by Z-transform of discrete data. By shifting the computational window, the soliton propagation in the optical waveguide with Kerr nonlinearity up to 1000 micrometer was simulated.
