Detecting lapses in visual awareness from the EEG power spectrum with a neural network

A system has been developed to monitor a subject's level of visual awareness. A continuous set of visual stimuli, some common and others considered rare, is presented to a subject. The electroencephalographic (EEG) spectrum is monitored using a neural network to predict a missed, rare stimulus.
