Microwave signal transportation in a magnetostatic wave transmission line under pulsed laser irradiation

A possibility to control the parameters of microwave signals by pulsed optical heating of a ferrite film involved in a magnetostatic wave transmission line was demonstrated. Variations in the signal phase shift by 10 /spl pi/ rad, delay time by 35 ns, and insertion loss by 5 dB were obtained in the 5.7 GHz frequency band using 5 ns laser pulses with the energy of 30 mJ.
