SMDS user experiences (Price Waterhouse)

This paper describes experiences gained during the testing, implementation and use of an SMDS wide area network at Price Waterhouse (PW). The PW network infrastructure and systems are described together with typical network traffic. This is followed by detail on the installation, performance and reliability of a three site pilot network installed early in 1995 and under test for approximately six months. The suitability of SMDS for use as a backbone wide area network for Price Waterhouse is also discussed.
